The Opening Ceremony of the Library’s exhibition on ancient texts and paintings in the Song Dynasty, calligraphy of stele inscription in China’s antiquity, and medicinal books in the Ming-Qing era has taken place at 11:00 in the morning on November 29, 2018 at the University Library.
The Exhibition includes four sections: Ancient Texts from the Song Dynasty (宋代古书区), Calligraphy and Painting from the Song Dynasty (宋人书画区), Stele Inscriptions (碑帖观止区), and Medicinal Plants from the Book of Songs (诗经本草区). Each of these sections has an independent theme, but shares the same ideas of spiritual proximity, and artistic and living qualities.
Mr. Foster Zhang (Library Director), Professor Xitao Fan (Dean of HSS), Dr. Wengao Gong (HSS), Professor Yongqin Chen (MUSE College Master), Dr. Kuan-Yen Liu (HSS), Mr. Shaofeng Zhang (career services office), Ms. Pan (Manager of the University Bookstore), and other University Academics, staff and students attended the ceremony.
After the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Liu presented a speech on the history and artistic creations from the Song Dynasty.
