- Message from the Library -
Dear Library Users,
Are you eagerly looking forward to International Workers' Day and Youth Day? Have you made adequate preparations for the upcoming holiday? Please refer to the attached Notification section in this Newsletter for information regarding the library hours during the holiday.
Throughout April, we celebrated the Library's iconic "A Walk in the Books" event, which included a book exhibition, engaging Sci-Fi Lectures, Professor GE Jianxiong's World Book Day reading lectures, the Makers Assemble series, and an exciting VR Interactive Zone. We hope those of you who participated in any part of the event had a wonderful time and gained valuable knowledge from it. If you missed the event, don't worry! You still have the chance to visit the book exhibition, which will be open until the end of the final season. Additionally, the recording of the first lecture, "How to Read," given by Professor GE Jianxiong, has been posted online. You can find it on the Library's BiliBili channel. Stay tuned for the online posting of the second lecture, "Reading and Life," presented by Professor GE on April 25, which will be available in the coming weeks.
Also, don't forget to visit our Library Decennial webpage, where you can learn more about the Library's journey over the past ten years.

在过去的十年里，香港中文大学（深圳）图书馆通过引入学科馆员制度并为每个学院配备专业背景的学科馆员取得了显著进展。截至2024年3月，人文社科学院、经管学院、理工学院和数据科学学院均已配置了专门的学科联络馆员，致力于为校内师生读者提供专业学科咨询和资源建设服务，满足他们在科研和教学方面的资源需求。自学科服务部门成立以来，图书馆一直致力于完善相关服务，积极推进学科资源建设。为此，图书馆开展了一系列工作，包括学科服务导航、决策支持、信息素养服务和教学教参支持等。 Over the past decade, the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen has made remarkable progress by implementing the subject librarian system and appointing subject librarians with specialized backgrounds to each School. As of March 2024, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Management and Economics, School of Science and Engineering, and School of Data Science have all benefited from the inclusion of dedicated subject librarians. These librarians are fully committed to providing professional subject consultation and resource development services to library users, including faculty and students, effectively meeting their research and teaching resource needs. Since the establishment of the subject services department, the Library has remained dedicated to enhancing related services and actively advancing subject resource development. To achieve this, the Library has implemented a range of initiatives, including subject service navigation, decision support, information literacy services, and teaching and Course Reserve support. The registration deadline for the Library Resources Video Editing Competition is approaching
The upcoming library resources creative short video competition for the spring semester of 2024 is an excellent opportunity to showcase your understanding and creativity regarding library resources. You can select any of your favorite courses and introduce your classmates to the library resources that can assist with that course. Participating in activities not only enables you to become a master of library skills but also stimulates your creativity and desire for expression. So, register now and take part in this competition to have a chance to win some exciting prizes!
