Summer vacation is here. Have you started your reading journey? Subject librarians recommend the following book lists for you.
1. To enhance your humanistic literacy
Reason for recommendation: Engaging in dialogue with humanities is a mandatory course for our undergraduate students, offered every semester. Students can collide with great thinkers, such as Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, Zhuangzi, Rousseau, Adam Smith, Marx, etc. As the summer approaches, let's choose three works of three thinkers from the library collection to explore their ideas!
• "The Republic" is one of Plato's most important works.
• "The Analects" is a record of the words and deeds of Confucius.
• "Das Kapital" is the intellectual crystallization of Marx's wisdom.
2. To improve scientific writing skills
Reason for recommendation: It helps STEM students to improve their English academic writing skills, from beginner level to advanced, and to embark on their research journey.

3. To establish a forward-thinking and innovative mindset in business
Reason for recommendation: In the "post-pandemic era," where will economic development go? Through reading, let us focus on multiple perspectives of the world economy during the pandemic and post-pandemic era. We hope to re-examine the current world economic situation in the book.
