Dear Library Users,
As October comes to a close, Halloween is just around the corner, bringing with it a festive spirit. The Library is excited to announce that on October 31, we will be offering free treats for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to mark your calendars and come by to grab some!
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our A Walk in the Books series for FALL 2023. Starting from November 1, we invite you to immerse yourself in our captivating Sci-Fi Book Exhibition and Read It Out Exhibition. Prepare to be amazed! To add to the excitement, there will be a VR Interactive Theatre and various engaging activities associated with the event. For more details, please refer to the Event Section in this Newsletter.
In October, we successfully concluded the Art Infinity event series. Our dedicated subject librarians have compiled valuable tips for utilizing Overleaf and Web of Science, helping you enhance your professional research skills.
We look forward to seeing you at the Library and hope you have a Spooktacular Halloween and a delightful experience exploring our upcoming events and resources.

- Library Notification -
- Rooms Q101-Q106 on the first floor of Philip Wong Yu-hong & Anita Leung Fung-yee Library have been transformed into Quiet Study Rooms and will be available for online reservation. Please refer to the "Group Study Room Booking System" for usage rules. The online reservation for the relevant rooms is scheduled to open on September 1, 2023.
- The library space adjustment has been completed, and we have created extra space for 176 new seats. The relevant supporting furniture will be in place as soon as possible. However, some areas are still undergoing power supply renovation, so we kindly ask your patience and caution.
- The soundproofing renovation of group study rooms on the first floor and the renovation work on the third floor's sunshine area of the University Library have both been completed. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we improve our facilities and services.

由图书馆主办的《艺术无限·Art Infinity》展览于9月1日至30日在图书馆成功举办。该展览以“故宫——乾隆鉴藏书画”为主题，吸引了大批艺术爱好者和读者的到来。展览期间还举办了主题相关的小型书展，为观众提供了更多艺术交流的机会。The Library of CUHK-Shenzhen successfully organized the "Art Infinity" exhibition from September 1 to 30. The exhibition focused on the theme of "The Forbidden City: Qing Dynasty's Collection of Calligraphy and Paintings" and drew in numerous art enthusiasts and library users. In 2023, the Eighty-First World Science Fiction Convention began in Chengdu, marking a year dedicated to Chinese science fiction. During this time, the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen launched the "A Walk in the Books" series, centred around Liu Cixin's "The Wandering Earth," themed "The Future." The series included a book exhibition, lectures, and participant submissions, encouraging library users to explore new trends and ideas. The series aimed to promote science fiction culture, technological innovation, and social harmony. Additionally, academic science popularization activities were launched to explore the theme's academic value. The series provided a deeper understanding of the future world, injecting new energy into science fiction culture and technological innovation.
