- Learn the Basics of Topic Modeling with GensimTopic modeling refers to a statistical model that uses natural language processing to mine topics in specified texts. This workshop will briefly introduce the development history and different models of topic modeling, and focus on how to use Gensim, a topic modeling tool. Two chapters of the English-translated text The Analects will also be selected to introduce how to extract topic keywords from the text through Gensim. This will be used as an example to introduce how to deal with the research of the topic of the text.

It will also focus on text analysis in the field of social history, taking the topic of Empress Lv's social relationship network presented in The Historical Records as an example to introduce the application of social network analysis through Gephi.

This workshop will briefly introduce the development history of geographic information systems, and focus on QGIS, a geographic information system processing tool. We will also take the topic of the distribution of SZDNET as an example to introduce map production and the use of spatial analysis through QGIS.
- Learn the Basics of Corpus Linguistics with Sketch EngineCorpus linguistics refers to the branch of linguistics that uses corpora as an analytical tool to study language. This workshop will briefly introduce the historical development and application fields of corpus linguistics, and focus on how to use the Sketch Engine corpus. It will also focus on the application of corpora in the field of translation studies. It will select a chapter from The Analects and take the topic of differences in translation styles reflected in different English translations as an example to introduce how to use Sketch Engine to research this type of topic.

In the first half of the session, we will briefly go over the knowledge of citation, including the rule of citation and major citation styles. In the second half of the session, we will focus on how to use EndNote & NoteExpress, including how to import documents from databases, how to group imported documents, and how to insert citations in Word.
