- How to Typeset Documents with a LaTeX EditorLaTeX is a document-typesetting tool, and Overleaf is an online LaTeX editing tool. In this session, we will learn how to use Overleaf to typeset documents, including how to create a document, how to format the style of texts, how to build the structure of the document, and how to type mathematical expressions. Further study guidance is also offered.
- How to Use Library Catalogue & DatabasesThis session introduces the basic functions of Library Catalogue and databases, as well as their advantages in searching for library resources, and reaches the conclusion that Library Catalogue and databases are complementary. Supported services, Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery and Purchase Request, are also introduced.
- Introduction to Library Resource TypesAfter a differentiation between academic resources and popular resources, this session gives an overview of resource types frequently used in academic studies found in the library collection, including books & book chapters, journal articles, conference papers, theses & dissertations, etc. Resource types are introduced with examples of standardized citation format.
