SHENZHEN, November 7, 2025 — At 10:00 a.m. today, the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen, in collaboration with the Security Office and Property Management Division, conducted a comprehensive fire emergency drill. The exercise focused on critical scenarios such as emergency evacuations and fire extinguisher training, aiming to bolster fire safety awareness and emergency response skills among staff and patrons.

Preparations for the drill began a month in advance, with the Library coordinating closely with security and property management teams to finalize evacuation routes and operational protocols. On October 22, all firefighting equipment underwent rigorous testing to ensure functionality and readiness.

When the alarm sounded, library users and staff swiftly followed the evacuation plan, exiting the building in an orderly fashion through designated routes. The drill proceeded smoothly under clear directives, with participants gathering at a safe outdoor assembly point. After the all-clear was given, everyone returned to the library to resume normal activities.

Post-evacuation, security personnel led a hands-on fire extinguisher training session, demonstrating proper usage techniques and strategies for tackling different types of fires. Library staff, faculty, and students actively participated, gaining practical experience to enhance their emergency preparedness.

The drill not only validated the Library’s emergency protocols but also reinforced a culture of safety among its community. Moving forward, the Library remains committed to its "Safety First, Prevention Foremost" policy, with plans for regular safety drills and training to protect lives and property.
