Library's Successful Spring Semester Information Literacy Training
To enhance users' abilities to search for and utilize library resources, retrieve scholarly information, and meet the demands for subject information literacy training, the library organizes a series of information literacy training activities each semester. These activities include searching for disciplinary information resources, research support services, and digital humanities.
Embedded into Freshman English Classes
From January 17 to 18, 2024, the library innovatively embedded information literacy training into the English curriculum for freshmen and conducted a special lecture titled "Library Skills." During this lecture, library experts provided detailed introductions to the library's main database resources, retrieval techniques, and the use of relevant software. The event covered all freshman students and aimed to help them quickly familiarize themselves with and master the use of library resources, providing strong support for their learning and research.
Advanced Workshop in Spring Semester
In the spring semester, building upon the success of the workshop held in the fall semester, the library organized an advanced version of the workshop in March 2024. This event focused on "Literature Research and Data Analysis" and "Digital Humanities." Through eight exciting lectures, it delved into cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in literature research, data analysis, and digital humanities. These lectures attracted the active participation of over a hundred students, who continuously improved their information literacy levels through interactive exchanges.
Through this series of information literacy training activities, students learned how to utilize library resources effectively and gained advanced skills in literature retrieval and data analysis. Improving these abilities will establish a solid foundation for future learning and research. Additionally, the library has enhanced its service quality through these activities, providing students with higher-quality learning support.
The library will continue to pay attention to students' information literacy needs, continuously optimize training content and formats, and provide students with more comprehensive and in-depth learning experiences. Through continuous efforts and innovation, the library will become an essential partner for students' learning and growth.
